Speedy's diary

I, Wild Storm of Wild Orchids, called Speedy, have decided to write down my experiences - in order to prevent my elder brother Rico from being in the centre of attention the time:

The diary starts with the trips to our beautiful garden which I think is simply great because I can always jump into the little creek. How refreshing that is when the temperature is 30 degrees or above! Rico cannot imagine that, he is not so fond of water !!

I must admit that when I was a puppy I didn't dare do that as well. But as one gets older and as I have always felt forced to do different things from Rico, "Mummy" had to be extremly careful. Running across the street was forbidden, but it was so tempting ....

By the way, we call her "Mummy" because that's what she calls herself. For example: "Where is Mummys Speedy??" Strange, is'nt it ?? From that it was not far to Mummy and Daddy", ha, ha !

Thus my puppy days passed by, one more interesting than the other , up to the days when we visited Mrs. Zwettler who treated our coats. I think it is called "trimming" which is supposed to be a necessity for Dandies, but I just don't like it. Especially when Mrs. Zwettler wanted to turn me on my backside - she can do that with Rico, he puts up with everything!

The only good thing about this visits was that we met Yulia, Queeny and Didi, Dandies like us! I have always felt great respect for the "old" Didi, he could bark with such a deep voice. Bit I also liked the ladies.

At the beginning we also went to dog shows with Mrs. Zwettler, Didi, Rico, the ladies and of course Mummy, I was not so fond of that for as a young dog I was afraid of the many other dogs. Especially those with the blue eyes and the silver-grey coat I used to growl and bark at. But then one of those huskies (or was it a Malamute ?) barked back and tried to bite me - which made me stop that.

Concerning the results: For example on March 3rd,2001 in Munich, I showed gallantry in the field - V1, Youth-CAC, Bavarian Youth Winner - I couldn't care less but if Mummy is happy I am happy, too.

By the way, for a better understanding, here are some phrases and grades used by the judges:

V1 = vorzüglich 1 = excellent (this dogs go on to the BOB, separated by sex)

BOB = Best of breed.

Sg = sehr gut = very good - that's for the birds, in the true sence of the meaning.

CAC = Certificat d'Aptitute au Championat / National Aptitude to the Champion Title; in most countries you need four CAC's to apply for the champion title of the country.

CACIB = Certificat d'Aptitude au Championat International de Beauté = International Aptitude to the title "International-Champion" - assigned and con firmed by the FCI in Brussels.

In the following I am going to write down everything by the day because Daddy also started to go with us and appeared to be very interested ?!

International Dog Show Wieselburg / Austria

Judge Mrs. Margarete Huber (Austria)

At this show I was sidetracked, particulary by the smells in the ring, I ran badly and was silly. Description from the judge: "He still needs ring experience !". Results of course were shattering (only for my owners ) = Sg 1 (Sehr gut 1 = very good 1)

Description from judge "Still very incomplete" - Yes, well, why not - in the youth class ?! Rico (the show off) won again V1 and CAC, I only got V2 !!

Ride to Klagenfurt - After being with Mummies niece Linda, we are staying overnight in a little, sweet boarding house - even I am pleased !!

Judge Mr. Otto Krcal (Austria)

V1, Best of Youth - Rico wins again: V1, CACA, CACIB, BOB - no surprises, there was only the two of us, ha, ha !! Mummy enjoyed it, that the judge said (and also wrote down) that my appearance is very good and she was very happy with me !! Of course I left the ring with a very proud-swollen chest !! Mummy's niece Linda and her daughter visited us at the ring-side, I received many stroking units !

Judge Mrs. Sommi Picinardi (Italy)

Only Rico was showed - for the first time against "Quirin vom Parkwald" - We think Rico is more beautiful and he ran well - V2 ! Mummy's consulation was that I was being very good !

Occasionally, we play daily in the garden, we do well after this !

Unfortunately Didi is not living any more, although, he always saw us as competition with the ladies, he will very much be missed !!

28.06.2001 - Mummy received my document about "Austrian Youth-Champion", she enjoyed it !

Wonderful summer months in our garden, after the continuous rain in June we find it simply supurb !!

Mummy and Mrs. Zwettler drove together - Only I was showed - V2 ! Mummy, met her friend from youth, Hedi, she lives in Unterwart !!

Federal-Winner Show Tulln

Judge Mrs. Elsbeth Clerc (Switzerland)

This time I came in a winner - V1, Best Youth, Federal Youth winner !!

Unfortunately for Rico he received only V2, however, on this day he became the proud father of 2 puppies (Eddy and Emily - a mustard dog and a pepper bitch). Mustard and pepper - these are the colour of us Dandies.

Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel "Römerhof" in Tulln. Mummy and Daddy became acquainted with a married couple from Germany at the buffet dinner. They are Breeders of Kerry Blues - I don't like these "arrogant" terriers !

National CACA - Terrier Show Tulln

Judge Dr. Andreas Schemel (Austria)

The show went for two days and in the Youth Class I won Youth Best, Club Youth winner. Rico was up against "Quirin" again and only won V3. Mummy wasn't impressed and said something like f**k and ri**.

Unfortunately I entangled Rico in an accident. I saw on the other side of the street a beautiful dachshund - girl and run away from mummy who was in the store and didn't catch me in time to attach the lead. I ran directly up the road and crossed the street with Rico running after me. Luckely for me I just missed the car but unluckely for Rico the car hit him !! Daddy, only seconds behind us, went rigid with fright and then quickly ran to Rico's aid. The driver, the swine, committed a case of "hit and run".

Daddy and mummy (with Rico laying on her lap) and me in the back immediately drove to the animal hospital. There, Rico lay on the operating table and again luck in the unluck he only had cuts and skin-abrasion, whereby the "scalp", skin of the belly looked more terrible than it was. Rico had to stay in overnight for observations and the next day when we picked him up he was unsteady on his feet, with a funnel around his neck. He had to wear the funnel for about a week and once the pain of the bruises and wounds went away he was once again "my old Rico" !! Daddy reproached himself terribly that he didn't put the lead on earlier , even though I caused Rico to have this unfortunate accident. Rico was unusually courageous, as he didn't make one complaint.

Thank God - there is our garden, running around the garden beds, Rico is back to his normal self and we get into all kinds of mischief. I secretly make short trips into the forest, which is strictly forbidden !

We did well, passed everything. Rico received V1, CACA, Reserve-CACIB. Mine were less in the intermediate class. This time "Queeny" received the BOB ! Mrs. Zwettler also participated this time !

10.12.2001 - We received the document that said Rico was "Austrian Champion" - he was given an extra portion of "guzzi's" (that's the word we austrians say to the dog biscuits) !

In the meantime, winter arrived, we looked forward to the snow - particulary the "snowdiving" as daddy calls it. When we emerge from the piles of snow we are "snow-white" !!

I have learnt in my short life that Spring returns and at the beginning of March the shows start again

IHA (International Dog Show) Graz

Judge Mrs Elfriede Heidecker (Austria)

This time only I was shown as Rico was shown previously and received the "Austrian Champion". The Judge was very pleased with me and I got V1, CACA and CACIB !!

22.03.2002 - We made a start to Reggio Emilia and stayed in an expensive hotel, where unfortunately the service was not very good.

The Judge was a genuine Dandie connoisseur, breeding Dandies himself. Rico won everything - V1, CAC, CACIB, BOB. I had to be satisfied with V2, Reserve-CAC, Reserve-CACIB

It was sunny superweather (for this time of the year !). We spent two days in Brenzone at the Gardasee, what a treat and we recommend the Piccolo hotel.

Occasionally we flee to our garden where we play hide and seek from mummy and daddy in the piles of leaves from the previous autumn. Carefully and cautiously we play, as the first show of spring flowers appear, snowdrops, crocuses, wood anemones and violets.

05.04.2002 - Travelling to Nurnberg with Mrs. Zwettler and her daughter, Birgit. - Dinner very delicious, we stayed overnight in the hotel "Daucher" which is near the exhibition grounds.

International Breed-Show Nürnberg

Judge Mr. Wilfried Peper of Germany

Mummy and Daddy were overjoyed as Rico won V1, CAC, CACIB and BOB. We drove on to Hof-Köditz, dinner (genuine "fränkisch") and stayed overnight at the hotel guesthouse Leupold in Selbitz near Hof.

In the open class unfortunately "Quirin" has pushed himself forward again, therefore Rico only got V1 and Reserve-CAC - the eternal on again off again, oh well !

In our garden slowly the tulips and hyacinths are showing themselves and the narcissus are already peeping out, we visit the garden daily for a good dose of fun while mummy and daddy have to work, he, he !!

I was only shown in a few- V1, CACA, CACIB. "Hami", a bitch from the Hungarian family Benkö won the BOB. (By the way the Benkö's are very nice people). Little Eddy and Emily (the litter of Rico) were shown for the first time in the "puppy-class" - they received "promising" and "very promising".

International Dog Show Ceske Budejovice / Budweis

Judge Mrs. Olga Hrabakova from Budweis

We dare to try Czechia, there are a lot more Dandies than in our own country, too much competition so it was no wonder Rico won only V2, Res. CAC, Res. CACIB, especially when he barked at the BOB dog ! This cookie is a tough one to crack.

In the meantime I was given the

"Club-Trophy 2001 - Best Short-Legged-Terrier Youth" !!

by the Austrian Terrier Club.

10.05.2002 - Travelling to Ljubljana (We try for the Slovenian Championship). Short visit, with mummy's relatives in St. Michael in the Kärntner Lavanttal. I was introduced to Dackel "Nicky" (nearly as old as I am). After some growls and threats we became good friends. We arrived in the evening to the pension Tavcar in Ljubljana, room prices very moderate, but not the dinner ! For us, its our usual food that mummy always brings with her.

I didn't like this show very much, too much diversion, the ring with the Amstaffs lay directly beside ours (no excuse) . However, I went into the ring and achieved an "excellence". Rico in his smartness "grinned" at the Judge and got V1, CAC, CACIB. The BOB this time went to "Cindy", a bitch from Mister Ott from Vienna.!

5. Klubska Razstava SKT - 5th Terrier Club Show Ljubljana

Judge Mrs. Lilian Brown (Denmark)

Today (daddy's birthday) I pulled myself together, especially since I noticed that yesterday mummy was sad and furious with me. I received the V1, CAC, Club winner. Rico won V1, CAC again he had the upper hand.

We arrived home, and again dedicated ourselves to the leaves in our garden. My only concern is the dwindling heaps of leaves. Now the tulips and hyacinths stand in full bloom, also the bushes of Forsythia are in flower.

International Dog Show Salzburg 2002

Judge Dr. Ercole Mentasti (Italy)

Daddy for the first time meets "John" (Pennywise Patriot Games) of Mrs. Anna Gioia Taucci from Rome. Mummy and Mrs Zwettler have bad memories of him from the show in Casteggio in March the previous year, at that time I had remained home with Daddy. John won the open class BOB. Also Mrs Birkicht from Chemnitz, Germany showed her Isidor (Ibolya közi Isidor) who won V2, all that remaind for me was V3. Rico was shown in the Champion class and won V1, CAC, Res. CACIB, at least we drove to Salzburg not in vain. Eddy was also shown and received "very promising". Mrs Zwettler made a fool of herself according to a statement by Mrs Radnetter from the show management. That left us feeling a little vexed so we drove straight home to our garden.

07.06.2002

Travel to Udine, to enter Rico in the "Italian Championship". We are also (mainly Mummy and Daddy) waiting in hope to see who will be the "Alpe-Adria winner" from the Portorose/Slovenia show. We picnicked in the hotel room because everything was so expensive including the overnight stay. Then we looked for the exhibition grounds for about an hour, unfortunately there were no signs, we ask for directions using sign language (mummy gestured with both hands and feet). Eventually we found the grounds.

Judge Mrs Gitty Schwab (Luxembourg)

Rico won V1, CAC, CACIB, BOB. Winning the BOB is part of the "Alpe-Adria winner". Rico got many pats and "guzzi's". We finished the day meeting Mrs Wenzler from Stuttgart, owner and breeder of Australian Silky's. Drove on to Portorose in wonderful weather. Dinner was very good and "slovenian", then spend the night at the pension "Edvina" at the periphery of Portorose.

CACIB (International Dog Show) Portoroz 2002

Rico made a good impression winning V1, CAC, CACIB and BOB, with this second BOB win he is the Alpe-Adria winner: Mummy was very pleased and very proud and also gave me some dog biscuits. We travelled home via Tarvis (borderstation) and Salzburg.

CACA Terrier Show Tulln

Only I and "Cindy" of Mr Robert Ott from Vienna and "Hami" of Benkö's from Hungary are announced. Naturally Cindy received BOB. I won V1 and CACA, this was expected and reached.

Once again we were in our garden there was mainly summer work to do (weeding). It being so hot I jumped into the little creek and this time Rico edged into the water more and more.

At this show "John" of Mrs Taucci was presented and unfortunately he won everything. For me only V2, Res. CACA, Res. CACIB, this does not concern me at all.

We drove to Zalaegerszeg and searched for the hotel "Balaton". It was so hot, that us two dogs stayed overnight on the balcony and mummy and daddy instead of having dinner had two serves of ice coffee.

CACIB (International Dog Show) Zalaegerszeg / Hungary

Unfortunately the Hungarian Terrier Club have done a sloppy job with my entry form, also "John" was announced in the open class, and so it's not the end of the world, that my entry form was missing. Rico carried off V1, CAC, Reserve CACIB in the champion class. Mummy and Daddy had a lovely chat with Mrs Taucci and her friend Elio. We travelled home via Graz and Liezen.

We began our journey to Stuttgart-Vaihingen. Mrs Wenzler arranged our accommodation at the hotel "Gambrinus", which was not far from the exhibition ground. According to Mummy and Daddy they had a very good dinner. Mrs Zwettler brought her three ladies (the 'old' Yulia, Queeny and Emily) Eddy also came. The five of us were announced at the show.

All five of us Dandies received V1, Eddy showed us up even more and received BOB. We all enjoyed this result. I unfortunately only received Reserve-CAC, but I couldn't care less!

Travel to Hungary, Rico and I are announced in Szekesfehervar, this show is in open air, which is usual for Hungary. We stayed in a very fine and inexpensive hotel, the 'Szarcsa Csarda' and we also shared a very good dinner. That night the hotel also had a two-nation wedding (the bridegroom was from Dortmund) the celebrations went on well into the night with the music keeping us awake.

CAC National Dog Show Szekesfehervar

We were the only Dandies in the show and it was extremly hot with no shade in the ring. So while waiting for the judging we moved into what little shade there was. Thank God, the "Benkö's" visited us - Susanne and Benedek were very welcomed by mummy and daddy as they were needed to be the interpreters. Rico achieved V1, CAC, BOB and I received V1 and CAC. But all daddy achieved was sunburn on his bald spot !

Travelled to Bratislava, this was our first trip to the Slovakian country. A very friendly lady Mrs Jana Schwarczova from the S-Route-Travel-Agency secured us a room at the hotel "Astra". It was a typical east hotel, the room was separated into two bedrooms but had a share bathroom and toilet. the hotels rent this as two rooms. This was all new to us especially as the girl at reception had said nothing and at around 11.00p.m. a Bernese Sennenhund (with his folks) came into our room. Daddy scared the master of the Bernese off again and again. Eventually all was settled and we shared the "apartment", later mummy and daddy laughed at it all.

International Dog Show Bratislava

Rico, myself and Cindy (Mr Ott was also there) were the only other Dandies announced apart from the Czech Dandies. For the first time we met the family Bastyr with 'Toffi', a very beautiful Dandie, but unfortunately was trimmed like a 'Cesky Terrier' and therefore won nothing. The Judge was very impressed with me and gave me V1, CAC and CACIB, Rico in the champion class also won V1 and CAC.

We had dinner in a typical Slovakian "Gasthaus" near our hotel, it was very tasty as us Dandies also got a little of the dinner. This time nobody shared our room however we still managed to get very little sleep as their was a German Shepherd, who guarded the parking lot and everytime a car arrived or a hotel guest got something out of their car the German Shepherd would begin his howling concerto !

International Dog Show Bratislava

The judge did not have much idea about Dandies, he was a breeder of Puli and Mudi. Nevertheless mummy has secured for me a CAC firstrode (not normally her kind). Rico in the champion class received V1, CAC, Res. CACIB. We travelled home via Vienna after the show feeling very relaxed.

We spent the week in the garden doing some repairs, our small creek has become a torrent after all the continuous rain we have had. We then set out in another direction - to Italy.

We began our journey travelling across the 'Brenner Pass' to the 'Gardasee'. Mrs Zwettler has been on vacation in Brenzone and will finish with the National CAC Show in Riva del Garda.

Our rings were placed in a compact tent with lightning blue carpet. Only Rico was entered along with Mrs Zwettler's ladies Queeny and daughter Emily. Rico won V1 and CAC, Queeny won BOB. I spent the time visiting all the neighbouring dogs and having a good old smell, this was much more interesting.

A week later we drove again in the other direction - to Germany. Mrs Zwettler and her ladies also joined us. We booked a hotel in the Mercure-Accor group. It had a unique ambiance to it, the service and price was also very good. The buffet breakfast was of the finest. All this in a beautiful, little town named Limburg/Lahn !

24th Special Breed Show for Terriers Limburg/Lahn

This time the two of us outshone winning V1, CAC, BR (Bester Rüde - Best Male Dog) and the first BOB to me. The Judge kept cuddling me. Rico won V1, Res. CAC and VDH-Claim. Mrs Zwettler's ladies were also joined by 'Nancy' (Clan O'Dandies Nancy Pretty) a Dandie lady with her owner, Mrs Marcia Beinhauer.

The 'Indian Summer' began in our garden giving it an autumn overtone. I enjoyed chasing the threads which come sailing through the air !

We began our journey to Maribor in Slovenia. After a long search we found the exhibition grounds and the hotel 'Garni Hotel Tabor', a tiny room and self catered (we bought food from the supermarket). The price for the room was expensive.

CACIB (International Dog Show) Maribor 2002

Judge Mrs Pamela Cross-Stern (Great Britain)

This judge is a Dandie expert. On this rainy day in the 'open air' ring, I won from this judge my second BOB. I was mummy and daddy's pride and joy, off course I couldn't care less. Except I have worked out that if I run 'consistently good' and also 'grin at the judges', then I can win mummy and daddy over and then I get more 'guzzie's'. I'm getting closer to being the Slovenian champion.

We travelled home, stopped for a short visit with mummy's relatives at the 'Lavanttal'. The Dachshund Nicky was pleased to play with us again, although in the 'good room' Nicky always, so amusingly, growls and barks at us. Soon after we began playing again, after all he doesn't need to behave like this with us !

Federal Winner Show Tulln 2002

Judge Mrs Liz Cartledge

After our experience in Maribor with Mrs Cross-Stern we have great expectations about the good judgements of the English judges. We were unfortunately disappointed, 'John' from Italy won everything. Rico received V1, CACA and Res. CACIB. I had to be satisfied with V3. I also picked up that mummy and daddy were very angry with this English Judge and that she in their eyes did not prefer the 'correct English type'. Me, like always, could care less.

National CAC Terrier Show Tulln 2002

Judge Mrs Bärbel von Kralik

The Judge makes full use of her Czech name, thinking that because of the 'von', she comes from nobility ! These were the remarks of the day that came from pointed tongues. We also were elated today, because, Thank God, Rico was assigned V1 and CACA in the champion class. I however only brought a Sg2. A German Terrier breeder delivered an appropriate remark 'What a load of rubbish Kralik (judge) spoke.' Followed by "however, who are we to criticise." Mummy and daddy left for the drive home with anger in their belly.

We journeyed to Bad Honnef. We stayed overnight in the hotel "Domblick". It had cathedral views. Mrs Zwettler, her ladies and Eddy also joined us, along with Mrs Marcia Beinhauer (Clan O'Dandies - Kennel).

Terrier Special Breed Show Bonn

Judge Mrs Gitty Schwab (Luxembourg)

My streak of bad luck continues as I received only a lousy Sg1 (very good). Eddy, Rico's son carried off the BOB and 2nd place in BIS (Best in Show). Daddy said: "How can it be, scarcely only one month before he (he means me, Speedy) received BOB in Limburg and now Sg1, who knows what the judges were thinking !" Then unnecessarily Mrs Zwettler made a scene on another issue. Daddy could only shake his head !!

We are home again in our garden and we go walking early in the morning and evening is always delightful as our residential area has many dogs to smell and visit. Also mummy has forgotten our disgrace in Bonn (phew) and the impossible Mrs. Zwettler.

Finally the document for the "German Champion" had arrived for Rico from the Terrier club in Kelsterbach.

We drove to Nitra in Slovakia, Mrs Jana arranged a room for us in the hotel "Olympia" which is not far from the exhibition grounds. This hotel was not up to our doggy standard it was very run down and shabby, the dinner and buffet breakfast was passable. This hotel is suppose to be the second best in the area!

Nitracanis - International Dog Show in Nitra - Judge Mr Andras Korosz (Hungary)

Rico in the champion class received V1, CAC, Res. CACIB and I in the open received V1, CAC. Mummy and Daddy could live with these results and as for us two Dandies what an experience because we get to know Dandies from abroad. The Benkö's with their friend Eva Lajos was represented and mummy and daddy chatted with Mrs Shejbalova from Czechia.

12. Terrier Club Winner (Klubsiegerschau) Nitra - Judge Mr Otto Krcal (Austria)

Rico in the champion class received V1, CAC, CC = Clubwinner. Our people were overjoyed at this result. I got V1, Res. CAC. We drove home with good feelings.

Drove to Landshut and stayed overnight in a rustic hotel. One notices that one is in the middle of Bavarian heartland, the funny thing is that the waiter speaks a saxon dialect .

Special Breed Show (Spezialzuchtschau) Landshut - Judge Mr. W. Berghäuser (Germany)

The Judge has been versed with the Dandies. "Eddy" and "Quirin" are announced. I received V1, Res. CAC.

We drove to Verona via the Brennerpaß. There is no traffic as it is out of season and everything runs perfectly. Daddy found us a 'cosy' hotel, the "Novia Hotel Rossi" which has a very Italian ambience, however no restaurant with it.

Raduno (Special Breed Show) Terrier di Verona - Judge Mr Antonino di Trapani (Italy)

Rico the rascal flirts with the ring personell and with the only bitch who is announced "Eclair's Fame for Me" with her owner and breeder Mrs Bracjwehr from Germany whose acquaintance we made. Rico, because he's grinning and by a perfect run in the ring, won V1, CAC and the BOB, that was the first part of our joy. The second came when later that evening we looked for a restaurant, on foot and on lead and found McDonalds (ha ha). Chicken wings were recommended and we were allowed it at cost, naturally, without the skin .

We had a very good impression of this judge, naturally, because we won again V1, CAC, CACIB and again BOB. We had to calm down on the drive home because we had come one step further to the "Italian Championship".

For the Austrian Championship I began with CACA. The V1, CACA, CACIB went to me and again the BOB went to "Eddy". We arrived home and daddy went straight on the the computer to finish the paperwork for the request for the "Austrian Championship".

There is joy everywhere before Christmas.

The winter is always a joy for us and only outside of the city do we need to be afraid of the thawing saltman, which can get within the paws and burn. Otherwise one will come across the little picture of a bonded family.

We have already, nearly gotten over the winter. This season pleases us with the lying of sufficient snow. All would be quite except for Mummy complaining of the winter how she wishes it would always be sunny and warm. Daddy is more neutral.

International Dog Breed Show Munich - Judge Mr. Peter Würgatsch

"Eddy" (who travelled with Mrs Zwettler) won BOB, for me V2 and Rico only V3. Perhaps us four and two legged creatures are already too delicate! We didn't say a word over the Judges decision, what was the point! Thank God we were announced for only this day, we wouldn't have coped with a second day.

Ahh what a pleasing time, I met Chili the mustard bitch of the Benkö's who has beautiful eyes. We chose eachother to make babies, I tried my best, so we shall see. The parting was very difficult.

In the garden it has turned to Spring again, unfortunately though the leaves did not remain on the trees?? Rico and I had dug under a snowmound bush (named "Little Princess" - very approbiate) and hidden from sight from mummy and daddy. They looked for us for a very long time and were becoming very nervous (I liked this game) when Rico the "slimy" gave our secret away.

We drove to Ferrara via Tarvis. This is the last show Rico needs then has all 6 shows for the E.N.C.I. - Italian Cynologist Federation that is required. The entry to the grounds and the hotel search was very difficult and like always Signore Nico Danovaro of the S.I.T. (Italian Terrier Club) was very helpful and I found favour with Mr Nico (breeder of Cairn and Norfolk Terriers, who smelt very pleasant). The hotel was expensive and we had to complain about the state of the room. Especially as we had seen a small picture that showed the prospect of the hotel balcony directly in view of Ferrara.

Rico was announced everything, he won all V1, CAC and BOB. It was a very fine show in the free one, and typically italian in a vest extended property yard. With a deep sense of satisfaction for us dogs mummy and daddy drove home.

Now we have a stronghold to face Hungary and Slovenia. Mummy said to Daddy that she has dark forbodings, but we two love dog shows although the past year was extreme but Rico and I stand united and are happy and jolly.

Unfortunately the veterinary in Budapest confirmed that Chili was not pregnant. Do I doubt my man strenght? It does not even cross my mind !

We travel to Veszprem into Hungary for the first time with Mrs. Koutnik Michaela and her family and her Dandie "Einstein" (Dandie Forever Einstein). we rondavoud in the South of Vienna and then drove two cars to Veszprem. Einstein gets very jealous of his "Frauerl" Michaela paying attention to other Dandies, we didn't understand this at first, then Einstein calmed down a bit.

Daddy selcted the Ri-ko hotel in Vesprem where we ate delicious pizza at a cheap price (2 Euro). Mummy said: The best pizza I ever ate outside from italy. You may have noticed that Daddy and I are the gourmets, we will try everything. Rico on the other hand couldn't care less, he bolts inside of himself.

After the pizza we search for the exhibition ground, it is approximately 20 km outside of Veszprem in a place that has a castel and a castel garden and is called "Nagyvazsony". We drove and search for this place and came up to Balaton Lake .

CAC Kutyakiallitas Nagyvazsony - National CAC dogshow - Judge Mrs. Zsuzsa Petik

As usual in Hungary the rings are in the open air, it was very hot and we hid ourselves in a small forest. The judge was very dear to us giving Rico V1, CAC, BOB and me V1, CAC, everything ran how we had expected. The Benkö's didn't show Chili - their beautiful mustard bitch. Michaela was not so happy since Einstein received only Sg = very good. However it was Einstein's first dog show. Michaela soon forgot as we took a table in a Csarda (typical Hungarian Restaurant) directly behind the exhibition site and along with the Benkö's spent the next few hours merrily.

Again at home and it is also hot in our garden but the small creek babbles over the stones and I stay for a few minutes being cooled as the water flows around me.

Travel to Papa, also in Hungary. This time Michaela and Einstein and also Michaela's mummy meet us in the evening after we have settled into our accommodation which by the way is a typical Hungarian hotel - the Arany Griff and very well maintained, I wouldn't be surprised if I could feel the breath of the Danube Monarchy or if a carriage with Count Esterhazy had come around the corner. Delightful dinner with Michaela, her mummy and Einstein in our hotel - perfect. Now only to face the show tommorow.

CACIB Kutyakiallitas Papa in the Esterhazy Kastely Vadaspark - Judge Bojan Matakovic from Croatia

Just before the show we are introduced to Susanne Benkö's friend Monika Varga, who also breeds Dandies and her youngest dog is announced. This bitch pleases me very much and she didn't reject my introductions (intensive sniffing of her rear side). Isidor from Benkö's breed was announced and the Birkicht family from Chemnitz was Rico's competitor in the champion class, which left Rico only getting V2, Reserve CAC and Reserve CACIB. My family was content with my results - V1 and CAC. Michaela's was also pleased with Einstein's result V1 and JCAC. The title for the Hungarian Champion seems a little closer for us Austrian Dandies. From the "two legged" there was lots of shop talk, whether it bought any realizations - who knows ! We had a small lunch in our hotel and us dogs only wanted to drink due to the hot weather, even though Monika tempted us with tasty morsels. The Birkicht's had to return to the show to present Isidor in the honour ring. We drove home.

We spent the day again in the garden, the tiny creek was slowly seeping away, it was only a small brook-let so Daddy filled large containers with water which made us feel better.

Mummy commanded us to bathe, not in the creek but in the bath! She is determined to make us her pride and joy for the next upcoming show. This time we go to Slovenia and Croatia.

Drive to Novigrad/Croatia (our first station and exhibition) via Salzburg - Villach - Tarvis - Triest to Portoroz. We decide to stay at the pension "Edvina" again but this time we are disappointed, however lots of native Promis in the guest garden. Many Mercedes and BMW park outside the restaurant and we think the food must be very good. But not so for the "normal" guest and we aren't even offered water, So we left and traveled 200m down the road to a boarding house were we get for us 4 and 2 legged of everything. Daddy also had a couple of glasses (one or two ) of beer inside . Afterwards we drove to a great hotel in Novigrad who are the exhibition ground of the first show, we now only have the border of Slovenia - Croatia to drive through.

CACIB ISTRA 2003 - Novigrad / Croatia - Judge Mr Terry Thorn from Great Britain

Must be well versed with Dandies cause Rico got V1, CAC, CACIB and BOB and V1 and CAC for me. Mrs Wuehrleitner from Ernsthofen (approximately 27 km from us at home) is a Westie Breeder and showed her Westies. Before and after the judging we had a lot of fun and us Dandies cemented our friendship with those Westies. After we received the papers we drove back again to Portoroz. In the evening we ate at the same really cozy restaurant and heard many languages spoken beside German, some English and many Slavic sounds. Several strange dogs passed our table and got my "hackles" up as I felt the need to defend our table. Mummy wasn't very pleased with me and decided it was time for bed as tomorrow we are in two shows, one in the morning and the Terrier show in the early afternoon.

CACIB Portoroz 2003 - Judge Mrs Siv Jernhake from Sweden

This time the winning happened in reverse. I received V1, CAC, CACIB and BOB. Rico won V1, CAC, Reserve CACIB. The shows were held in the shipyards of the Marina and every now and again a fresh breeze would blow through the show.

6. Klubske Razstave Portoroz (6. Clubshow for Terriers) - Judge Signora Marina Guidetti from Italy

Rico strikes again winning V1, CAC and Club Winner. I receive V1 and CAC. The exhibitors leave right after the show, must have a fare way to travel home. We remain spending the night then travel home via Triest, Tarvis, Salzburg then home.

At home Daddy is right on the computer requesting the mailing of the papers for the title "Slovenian Champion".

18.07.2003 - 19.07.2003

Surprisingly the papers arrive for both of us, they took less than a month.

But we are packing again, we are saved from the bathtub with drying shampoo (phew). Mummy and Daddy spent a long time discussing whether to drive directly to Györ (where the show is to take place) like in former times or to stay overnight, which is what eventually won out. We stayed at a sports hotel named "Sportpanzio", it was a far distance from the exhibition site and we decided to look for a restaurant by foot, however we found nothing because it was purely a residential area. Interestingly here the spirit of the 50 year old Communist rule still pervades being seen in the style of housing and the state of the roads. Needless to say we didn't find food and back at the reception we begged for a sandwich. Thankfully daddy received two ! Mummy due to the heat isn't hungry, but us dogs always like our fodder. The next morning we arrange for a taxi to take us to the exhibition site.

CAC Kuyakiallitas Györ - CAC National Dog Show Györ Judge Mrs Elfriede Heidecker from Austria.

Slowly our friends arrive. The Benkö's from Tatabanya, Monika Varga from Györ with her "Allin" (Marczal River Side Allin), the Koutniks from Vienna (Michaela with her husband Stefan) with Einstein. Susanne Benkö with her Leikki (Soft Ideas Seventh Heaven) is announced, although he is already "Hungarian Champion". Hami is announced, Kitty from Susannes breed (Ibolya-közi Kitty) is introduced to us dogs and also her owner Mrs Borsodyne Stoller Ibolya.

The title was promptly won by Leikki and for Rico only V2, Res. CAC. However for me V1 and CAC. I still have a chance with another CAC for the Hungarian Championship, it was given nevertheless to Esztergom. After the judging, Monika Varga invited us to her place for a Hungarian meal. These Hungarians and their hospitality - simply unmatched.

We aarived home again and the garden needed our care but it is too hot and us 4 legged and 2 legged creatures can only lie in the shade. Our small brooklet has completely disappeared.

09.08.2003

Drive to Esztergom (via Tatabanya). Again we meet Michaela and Einstein in the south of Vienna. Benedek Benkö picks us up at the motorway shortly before Tatabanya and guides us to a holiday camp around Tata. There we hire a holiday house for the night, the Benkö's bring us breakfast, spoiling us again. Us three dogs lie on the cool tiles on the ground floor. Early the next day we are picked up by the Benkö's, they want to show us their new house, which is about 1/3 of the distance to Esztergom. The house is built biological and pollution frre, beautiful, but not very roomy although they are planning on building extensions. Drive on to Estergom, it is already hot.

This lady is very taken with us three Dandies and as a result Rico in the champion class V1, CAC and BOB. Less for me in the open one V1, CAC and Einstein receives the same in the youth class. Now Michaela for Einstein can apply for the "Hungarian Youth Champion". And Daddy can do the same for us two at the "Hungarain Champion". We had the opportunity to meet Mr Braun from Limburg who is also a dog show fanatic like us and his beautiful (but for my taste, to extravagant) Kerry Blue bitch, which in Europe is hard to find.

It is to be mentioned that occasionally Mummy now trims us.

We have a comfortable drive to Bratislava, where we check into the hotel "Incheba" - directly beside the showground. We go "Gassi" in front of the Danube as it smells just like at Esztergom and at home.

We notice that Signora Taucci has announced her two Dandies "John" (Pennywise Patriot Games) and "Junior" (Sunjoy's Shadow of Victory) and the "un-english" Judge Mrs Liz Cartledge is arranged for the first day. Us two and our two legged companions have great respect for "John" as he attained the title "World Winner" at Dortmund. But in the meantime everything is different.

Medzinarodna Vystava Psov Bratislava - International Dog Show Bratislava -

Judge Mr Falk-Rüdiger Siewert from Germany.

Once again Liz Cartledge is absent and then the surprise Mr Siewert places Rico in first place V1, CAC, CACIB and BOB you can't believe the happy faces of mummy and daddy who still can't believe their luck. I receive V2, Reserve CAC. This result made us so happy and the Austrians, Mrs Huber, Mrs Dr. Schorsch and Mr Ott who were also exhibitors applauded our win. Also a Bedlington-Breeder from the Saarland congratulated us and said to Daddy "The right Dandie won". In glow of the day we return and go "Gassi" and visit a restaurant situated directly on the Danube, although we are already anticipating tommorow.

The second day in Bratislava, another international dog show - Judge Mrs Olga Hrabakova from Budweis (she has judged us one time).

With mixed feelings mummy goes into the ring with Rico and he again beats John with V1 and CAC. This time Junior won all and that remains for me is V2 and Reserve - CAC. Mummy is very pleased and the trip home was pleasant. Daddy immediately phoned all our Dandie friends and sent off the request for the "Slovakian Champion" for Rico.

Depart to Stuttgart. Rico will make his last CAC in Germany and I have also been requested. We stay at the "Congress Hotel Europe" in the Siemensstrasse , not far from the Stuttgart Killesberg fairground. The hotel is fantastic with a good restaurant and friendly staff. Unfortunately the only drawback is very little green space around the hotel, so that afternoon we ventured to a nearby recreational park in Killesberg were we can run to our little hearts content.

IRAS International Pedigree Dog Show Stuttgart-Killesberg - Judge Mrs Una Rigney from Ireland

Mr Braun who issues his bitch watched Rico in the ring and was surely impressed by the fact that Rico won again V1, CAC, CACIB, BOB and received the special title "Winner Baden-Wuerttemberg". My V1 and Reserve CAC was also valued. Rico now has both German titles. Daddy and mummy (who is already aquainted) met Mrs Rieck of the kennel "Piper" in Muenster, Germany. A very friendly lady who gladly shares her experience with you. Her young bitch "Ebony" (Ebony Evette of Hershey's Crown) was shown and won BH - Beste Hündin - classified best bitch. We stayed another night in the hotel and the next day drove home comfortably with the feeling that something important needs to be settled.

Mummy took both of us to the veterinary surgeons. Our sperm was to be investigated. A very amusing thought considering no bitch was around, then rear...rear ?? A pretty female assistant put it under the microscope and then immediately into another apparatus, no problems. we are both now officially capable of begetting (phew).

The Slovaks are also very fast - the document arrived for the Slovakian Champion for Rico.

In the following weeks after the shows autumn has arrived, we still have a few days of Indian Summer, which I love, however the dark, rainy, foggy autumn days follow and our family doesn't like it.

The mood lightens only by the fact that our darling "Chili" has arrived. She has chosen Rico for her bridegroom as Susan Benkö has calculated the week of the 29.09. till the 04.10.2003 for this prestigious occasion. It is simply delightful to have Chili in our midst and she is so sweet and flexible except I find mummy and Rico haven't paid me much attention.

Finally after waiting for half a year the "Italian Champion" documents for Rico have arrived.

The autumn weather continues but this doesn't prevent mummy and daddy from one last dog show. This one's for me - do they dare!

Drive to Nitra into Slovakia. I still need to obtain 1 CAC or Reserve CAC in order to get the champion title. We settle into the hotel "Agroinstitut" in Nitra, supposedly the best house in the place, however it has neither a restaurant nor an exchange office. I couldn't care less, we still had our fodder!

Nitracanis vystava psov - International dog show Nitracanis in Nitra - The judge originally intended was Mr Bojan Matakovic, but was replaced with Mrs Libuse Ubrova from Czechia.

The Czech Dandies were announced, I received V2 and Reserve CAC which made no difference to Daddy cause he could still request the Champion tilte. We drove home relaxed and satisfied despite the dreadful weather.

Hooray! Hooray! Chili has brought into the world her litter. Five of the puppies are healthy and lively only the sixth is weak, small and sick and may not survive the next few days. This is confirmed a few days later, although she was feeding her lung malfunctioned. The joy eventually overrides the sadness of losing "Minny" when we think of the five healthy puppies.

Winter has arrived and we look forward to the snow.

The Christmas holydays have been well received especially because I beg for a "Vanillekipferl" and an "Mostkeks" (a typical Austrian christmas cookie). I love these pastries, I can't understand why our people who also love these cookies forbid themselves from eating them. Oh well never mind more for us, ha, ha !

We arrived at the Benkö's house in Vertestolna - because of the puppies. Mrs Susanne Rajnar from Vienna is also there. Mrs Rajnar decides on the puppy named Mandy, our people prefer "Maggy", Mummy says she would also love Chili. We can only play with Chili and Mrs Rajnar's "Laura", the puppies were out-of-bounds.

The firecrackers this New Year's Eve was not so terribly only because we had our neighbours Martha and her husband, we love this guest cause she always has a "Guzzi" for us.

Travel to Vienna to "Laura" (Laura Letitia vom Adelsberg) and to her mummy Susanne Rajnar. We stayed overnight in Vienna then drive to the Benkö's in Vertestolna the next day. The collection and inspection of Chíli's puppies, we are not allowed inside. Then to our surprise Mummy walks out carrying "Maggy" herself. We didn't expect this, Rico was the first to check her out as he is the father. Maggy is so impudent and her father pulls at his beard. I want nothing to do with this impudent brat and when we arrive home I'm dragged to the upper floor.

Finally after Maggy settles in at her new home in Czechia, I can snuggle up to mummy again, although I still sulk a little after all she is only for looking at which is not a simple case with me.

The Winter goes on and on, there is again lots of snow.

We are on the way to Lieshout / The Netherlands to take part in the Dandie-Symposium. Two Dandies, our Mammie and Daddy and two Susannes from Vienna and Vertestolna/Hungary with Mandy, the daughter of Rico.

For our folks it was certainly interesting as fast as they listen to. But for us it was rather strenuous, because there were too many Dandie dogs in the room. By the way, we never saw as many Dandies, it might be fifty !!

02. May 2004

We are still in The Netherlands. Today is showtime. Of course the Dutch dogs will win, but our "Mandy" made a splash. The English judges John and Janet Roslyn would like to take her with them to Great Britain and that means: they like her very much !

Now we are again every day in the garden, also during bad weather. If the sun is shinning, my first way is to the brook to wash my paws.

20. May 2004

Something is going on this spring, but unfortunately not in a positiv way. This Thursday the old man (Rico) tried to beat me at a hollow in the garden, but without success !! Rico catched a bad chest contusion and some more. I had a bit pricks of conscience, because I had challenged him too much. Immediately he got a treatment and injections against the pain by Dr. Susanne. He is very brave and is not allowed to run the stairs, therfore he loves it to be carried by Mammie and Daddy.

Rico feels not better - each little strain is too much for him. Mammie wants to have a blood check-up and also a X-Ray.

03. June 2004

The examinations were done and it turns out, that Rico suffered from a Borreliose, followed by stiches through ticks. So the tick collar didn't work. The bad fall in the garden was already a weakness. I feel very sorry for my mate. But he gets a wonderful treatment. Now we have to wait and see, if the tablets will work, but the treatment should have been done in time.

The antibiotic therapy is still working. Though Rico feels much more better, but the may not overstrain, otherwise the pain will come back. In 19 days time we will know more, because his blood will be surged again. Please, keep your fingers crossed !

Now I'm back again in the diary. The computer was broken down. But the best news is: Rico is healthy again and his behaviour is the same as before.

Trip to Oberwart. None of us will be shown. A meeting with the members of the "Dandie-Fans" Club (to promote the Dandie Dinmont Terriers) is planned. Mrs Susanne Rajnar's "Mandy" will be shown the first time at a dog show. As a nice daughter of Rico the judge Dr. Miegl gave her "very promissing". We continue our trip to Szombathely and the hotel "Savaria". DDinner with Susanne Rajnar and her friend Uschi (Neubauer) was delicious and good value. By the way - we are 6 Dandies, 2 girls from each lady and we both dogs. Of course we are protecting our girls very fast !

International Dog Show Szombathely. The judge is Marija Kavcic (Slovenija).

I will be shown, because of the title "Grand Champion Hungary". Mammie did a very good job with trimming and my movement was also ok. Therefore I got V1, CAC, CACIB, BOB. Mandy got again a "very promising". A descendant of "Pennywise Patriot Games" (you know "John") "Sunjoy Shock Therapy" was shown in the youth class with V1 and Youth-CAC. We drove home in very hot weather via Oberwart and Vienna.

After days with changing weather the summer has come back and we are every day in our garden. The picture below may show you what I love to do in the garden.

21. - 22. August 2004

This weekend we visited Mandy und Laura in Vienna. We had lots of fun together. Rico of course was the charming boy, I'm more reserved. Mammie told something about the ORF and left us with aunt Susanne. They came back on Saturday with a smiling face, because she won money. We both do not understand, what's going on with money. On Sunday we drove back very easy-going.

We are back again in Vienna. This time we have also a meeting with the Hungarian ladies Chili and Molly and of course with Laura and Mandy from aunt Susanne. Our people call this general meeting of the Dandie-Fan Club. Of course we get lots of sweets. Rico is over the moon, because Mandy, his daughter is the first time in season. I'm not interested at all - cause I'm cool !!

We are going to drive to relations in the sunny Lavanttal / Kärnten. We are looking forward to have some wonderful late sunny days. Uncle Ernst's dachshund Niki gas pain with disk problems. This makes me feeling uncomfortable. Mammie, Daddy and aunt Hella are not happy about that. After two days everything is again in a good order.

Early in the morning we are starting to attend the "Bundessiegerausstellung". Both of us will not be shown, but Toffy and Mandy. Toffi gets V1, CAC, CACIB and Federal winner. Mandy unfortunately gets only Sg1 (very good 1). But the next day she was winner V1, Youth CAC, Club Winner. Toffi also gets V1, CAC, but couldn't get the club-winner certificate ?!! The second day (Sunday) we are not at the show because Mammie suffers from a stiff neck. Both of us were not sad, because we don't like really this show in Tulln.

We are driving to lake Bodensee. We started at 9 o'clock without stress. I shall get my last CAC in Germany. If it works, Daddy can ask for the title "Deutscher Champion" (German Champion KfT). During the trip via Deggendorf - Landshut - Munich Mammie fell asleep and Daddy would drive very fast, but only when it was allowed. Within 3 1/2 hours drive we arrived at Friedrichshafen by beautiful autumn weather. Our people looked around to find something to eat, but it was not easy. We drove then to the showground and Mammie asked for a catalogue. Only me and the two girls of Signora Taucci were entered. Later in the evening we met the people in the restaurant.

We 3 Dandies are the last one. I did my best and got everything, Mammie looked for = V1, CAC, CACIB, Bodensee-Winner. The tilte BOB went to the Champion bitch, because I was gentleman enough, as we say "in good English style". The Show was well organized. Thanks to Mrs Wenzler from Stuttgart. We all were very pleased.

We drove home on Monday very easy-going. This time via Vorarlberg, Innsbruck - Salzburg. The nice weather suits very much to our good mood.

13.11.2004 - Unfortunately there is nothing to report. I am tired of the bad weather and are not more allowed to go into the little brooklet. Mammie is angry that I would catch aq bad cold. Early in December the International Show in Wels will take place, where we'll be.

15.11.2004 - Today we got the document of the KfT, Kelsterbach. Now I can call me "Deutscher Champion/Kft ". Mammie was overjoyed, but I was happy about a special portion goodies.

22.11.2004 We got also the document of VDH. I'm curious if I also get extra sweets !

03.12.2004 - Tommorrow we would have been at the show in Wels, but unfortunately Mammie has hurt her ankle. We heard that Eddy, son of Queeny and Rico did won everything: V1, CAC, CACIB, BOB !!

09.12.2004 - Today we got the sad message: Pötyi died during giving birth of her last litter. We are feeling and mourning with Mammie Susanne.

13.12.2004 - Yesterday afternoon we went for a walk with a big group of dogs on a large ground between Pleschingersee and Voest-bridge. This "super" idea came from a young lady, who owns the seldom breed "Kooikerhondje" from the Netherlands, the eight month old bitch, Leyla, which is full of life (see website www.gemma-gassi.tk). There were also a Doberman dog and - bitch. They all get along very well. Of course there was also a rowdy-dog, who attacked me. After separated us, we went home.

17,12,2004 - It smells very nice in our house. The housewifes are baking biscuits and ginger bread. Me, Speedy, prefers meat, but Rico likes it very much.

03.01.2005 - Uff! Thanks god the holydays are over, also New Year's Eve with all that noice. But we went for a walk at the Danube-site every day. This we both like best.

08.01.2005 - After a long time we met the three Dandie girls Yulia, Queeny and Emily from Mrs Zwettler again. It was a great pleasure.

16.02.2005 - Last weekend was a bad one ! Daddy told us, that Mammie has to go to the hospital for an operation. At first the right eye and in 2 weeks for the left eye. We missed her very much !! On Monday Daddy showed us Mammie in the TV. She gave an interview because of her operation. Today Daddy could take her home again.

16.03.2005 - It seems the wintertime is over. The days are becoming longer with more sunshine. We are looking forward to go to the garden.

08.04.2005 - The whole week the weather was nice and first of all sunny. Of course we are every day in the garden. I also tried to swim in my little brook. I have really to swim now, because it is deeper than last year. That's wonderful !

12.05.2005 - We both have the feeling of going again to a show ??!!

13.05.2005 - We are right. They put us in the car and off we are. The first part on the Autobahn I was sleeping. Not before the big town "Budapest" I watched the traffic and the big trucks. Rico was sleeping throughout and not impressed. But a short time before Eger he raised his voice. We arrived at a place they called "showground" and then we were driving to the hotel, 32 km in distance ? !!

14.05.2005 - 16.05.2005

2 x CACIB, 1 x Interra Show at Szilvásvárad (near Eger in North Hungary).

Judges were day to day: Judith Averis (GB), Margarete Huber (A) and Gertrud Hagström (S) at Interra-Show.

This day (13.05.) and also the next one were sunny, but Sunday morning it was rainy. Our people and Rico are not impressed to stay in the mud . I'm going trough the showground and got two times the BOB !! On the last day the Interra Show was going on and I got again the BOB and "Interra-Winner" !!

Mammie and Daddy were again very proud of me. The exact results you will find in the rubric "Show results 2003 - 2005"

26.05.2005 - Dandie - excursion

As long ago arranged, the Dandie people met in Großraming. It was woderful sunny weather. So the people and dogs were in a good mood. Unfortunately we would not get to the end of our excursion because of a rain storm three days before and the access roads closed. Therefore we changed our tour and went to the accomodations of the family Dobos to the "Reichraminger Hintergebirge". There we would go for a walk and visit a typical restaurant. Both of us and the dogs of the family Dobos (Shatan + Harry) got a long very well. But Toffi had stress, because he had to watch "his" bitches (Maggy and Vicky). After he had rebuke me, every thing went very well. And the day ended very restful.

04.06.2005 - Eurodog Show Tulln 2005 Judge: Mrs Elsbeth Clerc from Switzerland.

We drove to Tulln very relaxed. But unfortunately it was very soon over, because we never have had such a bad organized dog show. The Dandies were judged at first. My turn was after "Baccara Bolero", a big mustard dog. Mammie knew that the judge preferred the smaller type (in accordance with the standard) and not the bigger type which is bred in the last years, but was however surprised to see the big "first" with my name on the board.

Europe Winner !! Eurodog Winner !! Happiness !!
