2006 Apr 23 - Austria, Linz Marathon #16. Time 3:15:57

Joined the organiser's sub 3:15 pacemaker group of around 10-15 runners at a constant pace of exactly 4 minutes and 37 seconds per km for what at first seemed like the most leisurely marathon ever. Was the quest for a sub 3:15 to qualify for a guaranteed "Good for Age" entry to London about to bear fruit? .... Overheating took its toll at the 38 km mark, and the pacemaker friends slowly disappeared into the distance for yet another exasperating 3:15+ result.
